At our Reunion event in Phoenix this week, we’re making an exciting announcement. We will be introducing a Publishing Points system. This is great news for you!

We are in the process of turning all credits into the new HM publishing point system. As of August 16, 2010 the credits in your account will be given their equivalent point value.

We are so excited for points! Here’s why:

• Credits are being converted to the retail price of the item you purchased.
• You can now use your points on any product, but you aren’t tied into the product you originally purchased.
• You can easily create birthday gifts, holiday presents, or home décor without worrying about purchasing a specific item.

All newly purchased points will now expire after two years instead of one year. All previously purchased credits that have been converted to points will expire two years from the date the credit was purchased. Logging into the HM site after the conversion happens will allow you to see the new expiration date for your points.

Here’s an example.

The points system is going to make creating your favorite Heritage Makers projects much easier. You should notice the change in your account by August 16th.

On June 1, we will allow 12x18 poster credits to be used for 18x24 posters. Any family fold credit will still be good for the 3-panel family fold.

Managing Your Photos

Click How to upload your photos for a short video tutorial

Take the time to manage your photos before you take them off your camera. Doing so will help eliminate some of the overwhelming frustration of having to search through all your photos later. It’s that ole “take time to sharpen the saw” wisdom.

When uploading your photos, if you get a 2038 error, or only a couple of images load while others don’t or get stuck loading, go to the original file on your computer and open it using an image view program. Resave the image as a JPG and re-upload the image to Heritage Makers.
